Capitalism made simple

* You cannot help the poor, by destroying the rich.
*You cannot strengthen the weak, by weakening the strong.
* You cannot bring about prosperity, by discouraging thrift.
*You cannot lift the wage earner up, by pulling the wage payer down.
* You cannot further the brotherhood of man, by inciting class hatred.
* You cannot build character and courage, by taking away men's initiative and independence.
* You cannot help men permanently, by doing for them what they could and should, do for themselves.

In the United States a person makes themselves productive by a product or an idea, works hard, invests wisely and may hire others to do a job. This is achievable with hard work and smart decisions. Sometimes we fail, but if we keep trying it usually pays off. As we earn more and hire others they in turn repeat the process. In the past 8 years we have weathered every economic storm because our economy was basically strong. In the past 2 years we have had a down turn, but we have also had officials of the highest levels bad mouthing our economy and belittling the success of hard work. Capiatalism allows you to work hard and keep your money, making productivity a worthwhile activity. We give money to help others, as we choose. It's affectionatly known as trickle down economics, and it works better than anything else that's been tried.
Greed is a human emotion, it is strong and it happens to everyone, rich, poor and middle class. It even happens in government.

Socialism takes money from the productive, and gives it to the government, a non productive entity, and they spread the money around as they see fit. This takes away the drive of people to be productive. It takes away the desire to give to our neighbor, since the government is supposed to do that anyway.
By the way, since the government is paying the bills they will assume it is their right to tell you how to live.
It makes everyone poorer and less free, no matter what your status.
