Obama willing to bankrupt the coal industry, yet it was covered up by the San Francisco times. Why are all these news organizations hiding things from the American people? Is it because they know most of us find his positions unacceptable? So many things are coming to light in these final days before the election that should have been known to us long ago.

Capitalism made simple
* You cannot help the poor, by destroying the rich.
*You cannot strengthen the weak, by weakening the strong.
* You cannot bring about prosperity, by discouraging thrift.
*You cannot lift the wage earner up, by pulling the wage payer down.
* You cannot further the brotherhood of man, by inciting class hatred.
* You cannot build character and courage, by taking away men's initiative and independence.
* You cannot help men permanently, by doing for them what they could and should, do for themselves.
In the United States a person makes themselves productive by a product or an idea, works hard, invests wisely and may hire others to do a job. This is achievable with hard work and smart decisions. Sometimes we fail, but if we keep trying it usually pays off. As we earn more and hire others they in turn repeat the process. In the past 8 years we have weathered every economic storm because our economy was basically strong. In the past 2 years we have had a down turn, but we have also had officials of the highest levels bad mouthing our economy and belittling the success of hard work. Capiatalism allows you to work hard and keep your money, making productivity a worthwhile activity. We give money to help others, as we choose. It's affectionatly known as trickle down economics, and it works better than anything else that's been tried.
Greed is a human emotion, it is strong and it happens to everyone, rich, poor and middle class. It even happens in government.
Socialism takes money from the productive, and gives it to the government, a non productive entity, and they spread the money around as they see fit. This takes away the drive of people to be productive. It takes away the desire to give to our neighbor, since the government is supposed to do that anyway.
By the way, since the government is paying the bills they will assume it is their right to tell you how to live.
It makes everyone poorer and less free, no matter what your status.

The wonders of Yarrow
Yarrow is an herb that can be found growing in the fields of the mountain ranges. It's a simple flower, but a woman's best friend. As we age, it's no secret women have "women troubles". A few cups of yarrow tea everyday can change your life for the better, you may even be able to dodge having surgery.
Do the research, google yarrow, and decide for yourself. For every ailment there is an herbal treatment.

Sarah Palin, wow!
Last night I watched the much anticipated speech of Gov. Sarah Palin, and was not disappointed. After all the vicious media attacks on her and her family she appeared on the platform with dignity and spoke as well as Barack Obama. It's not only what she said, it's what she did.
Palin has a record, she has made decisions, good ones by the way. She hates government waste and is not afraid to do something about it. We need someone like that on a national level. The so called snarky remarks, that's what the Vice Presidential candidate is supposed to do. Joe Biden did it, so did Al Gore and Dick Cheney. If she didn't go after Obama she would have been criticized as well. As far as experience goes, Rudy Giuliani said it best, "she had more executive experience than both of them, (Obama and Biden),on her first day as mayor, twice as much on her second day".
Ask Ed Pawlowski how easy it is to be mayor. Being mayor was such a task that he had to appoint others to do much of the job. Palin did no such thing, she made decisions and owned them.
As far as her teenage daughter is concerned, she should have been off limits. I was shocked by the news coverage of her pregnancy. The pit bull comment from her speech, I get that, no one messes with the kids of any mom worth her salt. More than that, her family owned up to the situation, and took a responsible path. It was refreshing to see.
My husband and I also preached abstinence to our children, along with a clear education of where babies come from, and the multiple choices there are in the birth control department. That's all any parent can do, I'm sure the Palin's did the same. Raise your hand if you are in your 40's and your parents had to get married. It happened enough that many of us can relate. Not trying to justify the situation, but things happen in life.
It's plain to see no matter what this woman does she will be verbally bruised by most of the main stream media. It's a double standard and I hope it back fires.

Just returned from vacation, much needed. It was a great family time, and it ended too quickly. It's amazing how relaxed one can be when you turn off the tv, the radio and don't read the paper or access a computer.
Alas, it's not reality, so it's back to the every day.
Sorting out the priorities, I do enjoy writing and think maybe it's time to post in my own name for the sake of credibility. My concern has been that my opinions wouldn't be considered if my identity was known. I've been an elected official and active in the community.
Thoughts anyone?

Obama's speech in Germany
Hello again, just had to come back for a moment because I can't keep silent. This has been quite a week politically speaking. Sen. McCain was in town, I was there, it was quite a nice event. McCain was gracious, but most of all he was a picture of American pride. He was not my choice for Republican nominee, but I am quite proud of him these days. It will be easy to vote for him, especially given the things that are coming out of Barak Obama's mouth.
I don't care about the gender, race or age of my President, I care about policy, period. The vision they share and past voting records is all that matters. When John McCain went abroad he spoke with glowing pride in regard to his country, the same can't be said for Obama, and as an American I am angered and offended.
Here are some quotes I'd like to address:
(Obama's quotes in red, appropriately)
Yes, there have been differences between America and Europe. No doubt, there will be differences in the future. But the burdens of global citizenship continue to bind us together. A change of leadership in Washington will not lift this burden. In this new century, Americans and Europeans alike will be required to do more -- not less. Partnership and cooperation among nations is not a choice; it is the one way, the only way, to protect our common security and advance our common humanity.
Obama considers himself a citizen of the world, which makes me wonder why he is running for president, until this quote. I have no interest in becoming a global citizen, I am an American. I do not wish to be required to do more, nor do I believe it is his right to require me and my fellow countrymen to do more. Partnership and cooperation isn't a choice? Partnership of what, and what is this constant talk of the common humanity and the common good, it sounds like communism.
In fact Obama's marxism is showing all over this speech.
That is why the greatest danger of all is to allow new walls to divide us from one another. The walls between old allies on either side of the Atlantic cannot stand. The walls between the countries with the most and those with the least cannot stand. The walls between races and tribes; natives and immigrants; Christian and Muslim and Jew cannot stand. These now are the walls we must tear down.
Guess what Barak, these walls have been up since the beginning of time. Not you or anyone esle is going to force them down. What exactly does he mean when he says the walls between the countries with the most and the least cannot stand? Who does he think sends money to these underprivilaged countries now! If we "equalize" least and most there will be no one to help, as everyone will become least. Read history, that's how it works. Marxism showing here.
This is the moment when we must build on the wealth that open markets have created, and share its benefits more equitably. Trade has been a cornerstone of our growth and global development. But we will not be able to sustain this growth if it favors the few, and not the many. Together, we must forge trade that truly rewards the work that creates wealth, with meaningful protections for our people and our planet. This is the moment for trade that is free and fair for all.
He admits open markets create wealth! Last I checked we have free trade and American's are losing jobs because liberal politicians at home have not met a regulation they don't like. Trade is good for anyone who has a will to work and compete, "making it fair" will destroy the prosperity we do have. Marxism showing.
I know my country has not perfected itself. At times, we've struggled to keep the promise of liberty and equality for all of our people. We've made our share of mistakes, and there are times when our actions around the world have not lived up to our best intentions
Wow, can't believe he said this on foreign soil!
People of Berlin -- and people of the world -- the scale of our challenge is great. The road ahead will be long. But I come before you to say that we are heirs to a struggle for freedom. We are a people of improbable hope. Let us build on our common history, and seize our common destiny, and once again engage in that noble struggle to bring justice and peace to our world.
There's that word common again. Isn't America free? Isn't Germany free, as well as Europe? Yes, I know they have much more socialism than we do, but are they not free people? What is this struggle for freedom that we have inherited? Improbable hope? Maybe that was true for Germany before Reagan broke the grip communism had on Germany and Russia.
This has been a long post, but it's important to understand the terms a candidate for President is throwing around, especially over seas. Not only is Obama unqualified, but he is not a man who considers this country to be a priority, by his own words.
We have given away freedom for security in this nation for too long. We have lost sight of what a treasure freedom is in our demand for government aid everywhere in life. The answer my friend lies in you, in your personal struggle and triumph. Nobody does it better on your behalf than you.
A quick not to my fellow bloggers on this site, great posts all. Thanks for sharing your opinions and research with us on a consistant basis, especially VDSM.

Don't throw away those dandelions!
With spring right around the corner our lawns will soon be full of that
yellow weed. Dandelions! They grow everywhere, and keep coming back.
I'm going to say it, "it's a sign from God". They are one of the healthiest things you can put in your body. Great for detox, they will keep your liver and colon clean and in good working order. I know, it's hard to imagine plucking them from your yard and putting them in salads, tea and (in our house) mashed potatoes (that's how we get the kids to eat them!). Just wash them up, dice them up and there you are. They do taste bitter, so put them with something.
Don't take my word for it, research it yourself and be amazed.
